C.A.R. and a whirlwind summer tour!

Updated: 6 days ago

7,000 miles traveled and 6 weeks later, the National Society Children of the American Revolution summer regional tour has come to a close! DJWF board member Reese Holmes, who also serves as the National President of this organization (C.A.R.) traveled to visit over 1,000 participants across 7 regional meetings to share the story of Dr. Joseph Warren and other lesser-known patriots of the American Revolution. Members across the country aided in fundraising efforts, service projects, water balloon reenactments of Bunker Hill, and more to celebrate and honor Dr. Warren. Programs were presented to teach about this years National Program and Project, under the theme “Revolutionary Valor”! Members learned from skits such as our “Among Us” American History skit, where lesser-known yet ever so important “crewmates” of the American Revolutionary War did their tasks to forward American independence, they had to vote out the imposter (Benedict Arnold) who was secretly a traitor! They also participated in many fun activities, such as our Conservation activity where members created “monuments” out of toothpicks and marshmallows, that were then shaken (earthquake), sprayed with water (flood) and fanned (hurricane) to see how historical monuments and sites are affected by increasing natural disasters! The work of this years National Project is far from over! See the N.S.C.A.R. website www.nscar.org to learn more!

Enjoy looking through all the pictures and highlights!
